Purpose

Worn Again was founded in 2005 to find creative solutions to waste and generate income for sustainable lifestyles organisation, Anti-Apathy, a registered charity that promotes and supports the move to a fully sustainable way of life. Other members of the Anti-Apathy family are The Nag and RE:Fashion Awards.

Business Model

Worn Again is a for-profit Social Business that aims not only to solve social and environmental issues through business but also to be profitable. Our goal is to prove that closed-loop upcycling is financially attractive and makes good business, so new and existing players are attracted into this sector to maximise the social and environmental impact.

Anti-Apathy receives a percentage of every single Worn Again sale before any deductions for Cost of Sales and Expenses.

Ownership

Worn Again’s shares are held by a group of private individuals along with Anti-Apathy which holds a Golden Share. This includes, amongst other things, veto rights over changes to ownership or the nature of the business, alteration to the Constitutional Documents, staff remuneration, and rights to remove and appoint Directors.

Management

Anti-Apathy has a right to a seat on our Board. Its appointee serves as a Non-Executive Director to make sure that its interests are looked after and kept at the heart of all we do here at Worn Again.

Ethics & Compliance

Worn Again takes a transparent approach to the real ingredients that go into our products, including the materials, labour standards and energy use, while addressing the impacts of our activities on trade and climate change. Please refer to our Ethical Policy where we provide details of our activities under 3 categories; Environment, People and Places, Pricing.
